Going Back to Easter

I haven't been blogging much lately since I've started digital scrapbooking. Talk about FUN! I became a consultant, so if you're interested, let me know. Anyways, I realized that I haven't made an entry in quite some time. So I thought I'd look back and share our little, quite Easter. First we went to church...which was awesome! My favorite service of the year is on Easter. We have so much to celebrate on Resurrection Sunday. Of course we were running late, and I didn't take any pics of the kids' darling outfits. Shucks. Oh well. When we got home we switched into jammies for the remainder of the day.After church, Bryce became the Easter bunny and hid a bunch of eggs during nap time.

I found some garage sale toys to put in their Easter baskets. Treyton's was filled with transformer-like robot things. Galina's was a dancing doll and some bracelets.

After they woke up from naps, they got their toys and baskets and raced around looking for eggs.

Treyton was the master egg finder!

Galina kept getting side tracked.

And then we decided to color real eggs.

Bryce's Grandma Helen taught him this tye-dye trick. Wrap the egg in a paper towel and spoon the dye over. Then let it sit for a few moments to absorb.

The tye-dye egg is the one in the middle. Good idea, Grandma Helen! Here he's trying it with Galina. More patience than I had, that's for sure.

She was captivated.

After we were done, so was Galina.

Total meltdown.

We finished the day off by watching the movie Jungle Book. All in all it was a great, relaxing day.

My Dad is Awesome

Last week my dad came for a few days to visit. He also painted Galina's big girl room.

And gave poor Polly some attention.

Cuddled with his grandkids.

Put together a bookshelf.

Brought some cute outfits for the kids that Grandma Kay found.

Galina had to try out her new dance moves in her tutu dress.

She cried when we took it off her.

Treyton got a MN Gopher Football jersey. He didn't want to take it off for 3 days. Gave me a chance to relax.

Weathered a snowstorm.

Slept on a mattress which he let the kids jump all over.

Wrestled with the kids. And even took the kids so Bryce and I could go out....alone...ON A DATE!!!!!! (Thanks, Father!)

These will eventually be bunked.

Isn't it a cute comforter? I loved it! Bought it before she was even born.

Father, we can't thank you enough for all your hard work and love!

Shredded BBQ Chicken

Here is the easiest recipe for BBQ chicken sandwiches. (You can also use the leftover meet to stuff tortillas, add to nachos, make in one of those Bisquick pies, put on refriderated pizza dough for BBQ pizza, etc.)

BBQ Chicken

One bag of frozen chicken (breasts or tenders)

One bottle of BBQ sauce (I recommend Famous Dave's BBQ...the best!)

Put in crock pot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-6 hours. About 1 hr before you want to eat, open crock pot and shred chicken using two forks. Return the cover and let cook another 1 hr on low. Enjoy!

TX Highlights

It's been a few weeks, but I wanted to share more from our TX trip. One day we went to a park to feed the ducks. They weren't very hungry as hoards of people had most likely been there throughout the morning.

Next we walked to some fields.

The kids and a few adults raced around playing soccer.

One little person enjoyed sitting on the ball more than anything else.

Then we headed back towards the car for a picnic lunch.

One last look at the pond for any hungry ducks. No luck.

Another day we headed to the zoo. The animals were fabulous! Very close viewing.

And they loved the goats in the petting farm. Galina was looking at that little girl wondering why she didn't get to wear a dress and fancy hat. We had some fun times at home. Kids have never watered plants/flowers before as I am NOT a gardener. And we can't forget bath time. Dennis and Sharon have a huge jacuzzi tub to which we added bubble bath. They loved how the bubbles grew and grew and grew!

Q-ute Quilt

Treyton came home from preschool with this q-ute craft. It was "Q" day at his school and they made a quilt. Great-Grandma Ruth should be proud! (She's a quilting queen!) Treyton must have a few of your genes.

Treyton Had A Little Lamb

Treyton was up at 5:30 this morning with a bloody nose. I put him back to bed but 20 min later he came down asking if he could get up. So I decided to take this early morning time for a craft. I took a paper cup and slathered it with glue. Treyton went to work putting the "fluffies" onto it.

Next came the eyes.

And the ears.

Not to forget the feet!

Or a tail for the backside. I think sheep have tails, don't they? I'm beginning to doubt myself.

Then we added a pom-pom nose and a bow tie.

There is Treyton's little lamb! Cute isn't it? The lamb too.
